This site is a static blog built with Jekyll and hosted on GitHub Pages. It has no comment system and no user accounts or login. Below is what actually happens when you visit.

Hosting

This site is hosted on GitHub Pages, provided by GitHub, Inc. (88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you visit, GitHub’s servers automatically process technical data such as your IP address, browser type, referring page and access time in order to deliver the page and keep the service secure. I have no access to or control over these server logs. Details are in GitHub’s Privacy Statement.

Cookies

This site does not set any cookies of its own. When you make a choice in the analytics banner described below, that choice is stored in your browser’s local storage (not a cookie) so you aren’t asked again.

Comments, accounts & analytics

There is no comment system and no user registration or login.

This site uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how it’s used — but only if you actively agree via the banner shown on your first visit. Nothing is loaded or tracked before you click “Accept”, and if you click “Decline” (or ignore the banner) no analytics runs at all. If you do accept, Google Analytics sets its own cookies and processes data (such as your anonymized IP address, pages viewed and device/browser type) on servers operated by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland); IP anonymization is enabled. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser’s local storage for this site, which will show the banner again on your next visit. Details are in Google’s Privacy Policy.

Beyond that, no personal data is collected here beyond what your browser sends automatically to load the page (see “Hosting” above).

Links to external content

Some posts link to external sites, for example YouTube videos. These are plain links, not embedded players — nothing is loaded from or sent to that third party until you actively click the link. Once you do, the destination site’s own privacy policy applies.

If you contact me directly, e.g. by email, I use the information you provide (such as your email address) only to respond to your message. It is not shared with third parties.

Your rights
